Charles J. "Chuck" Webb, age 87, formerly of Elmhurst, passed away peacefully at his home with loved ones at his side, on Nov. 28, 2009, after enjoying a wonderful 20 year retirement. He faithfully served his country during WWII as a Quartermaster in the U.S. Navy. Chuck retired from Proviso West High School, Hillside, IL, as a Vocational Counselor. While an avid fisherman and lifelong Cub fan, it was people he enjoyed most. He had a tireless heartfelt interest in anyone he met. Chuck is survived by Shirley, his devoted wife of 55 years; his loving children, Jay (Nancy) Webb, Terri (Ted) Crapple, Lee (Dave) Williams and Linn Kroeger; his grandchildren, Erik and Brian Webb; Kyle and Jennifer Williams and Allison Kroeger, along with countless family and friends. Visitation at the Pedersen-Ryberg Mortuary, 435 N. York Rd., Elmhurst, on Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m. with a time of sharing remembrances at 8 p.m. in which family and friends are invited and encouraged to participate.
